Questions.
Including the ones with an awkward answer. If yours is not here, ask it.
- What does a council website cost?
- A council pays $15.99 a month or $149.99 a year. An assembly pays $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year. There is no set-up fee, no per-member charge, and no higher tier — every council gets every feature.
- What web address will our site have?
- You choose the first part: your-council.knightlysites.com. You pick it during signup and we tell you immediately whether it is free. Pointing a domain your council already owns at the site is not set up for you today.
- Who is allowed to edit the site?
- Any officer you give the role to, and there is no limit on how many. Everything published on the public site is editable from the officer workspace in a popup, without leaving the page. The design goal was that a council never has to find a webmaster; if an officer can use a phone he can update the site.
- How do the meeting minutes work?
- Someone records the business meeting and uploads the audio. It is transcribed, then drafted into minutes in the order a council actually uses — call to order, roll call, officer reports, motions, the sick list, good of the Order. The Recorder edits the draft and publishes it. The software never publishes minutes by itself.
- Does our roster or member information go to an AI company?
- No. Anything that touches member information is transcribed and drafted on hardware we run ourselves, not sent to a commercial AI service. Prayer intentions reach the drafting model without the name of the person who asked for the prayer. The one exception in the whole platform is illustration images, which contain no member information at all.
- Do the volunteer hours really produce Form 1728A?
- Members log hours from a phone against the Order’s own 1728A category tree, so the annual survey assembles from what members already entered rather than being reconstructed from paper in June. A human still reviews and files it — this fills the form in, it does not submit it for you.
- What happens if we cancel?
- The subscription stops at the end of the period you have already paid for, and nothing bills again. Your council's records are kept for 3 months after that, so a council that cancels in the middle of a leadership change has not lost its minutes. Cancelling does not delete anything on its own.
- Can you move our old site across?
- Yes, as a separate one-off job rather than part of the subscription. We move your news, photographs, documents and roster, and quote a fixed price after looking at your site — from $299, depending on how much there is. Nothing is charged until you have agreed to the quote. We move the content, not the old design.
- Can we get our content out?
- Yes, yourself, free. An admin presses one button in Officer Center → Settings and gets a download: every record as a spreadsheet file, plus the original photographs, documents and minutes attachments. Two exports in any twelve months are included; each download stays available for seven days. Stored passwords and keys are never included.
- Is our card safe?
- We never see it. Payment is handled by Stripe and the page you type a card number into is theirs. We store a customer reference, a subscription reference and the status — not a card number.
- Does this work for a Fourth Degree assembly?
- Yes, and at the lower assembly price. An assembly is a different shape from a council — a Faithful Navigator rather than a Grand Knight, and a man may belong to one council and, once he is a Fourth Degree Knight, one assembly. That is enforced by the software rather than approximated.
- Is Knightly Sites part of the Knights of Columbus?
- Knightly Sites is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or licensed by the Knights of Columbus, the Supreme Council, or any state or local council or assembly. "Knights of Columbus", "Faith in Action" and Form 1728A are referred to only to describe who this software is built for. It is built by people who know the work because they do it in a council, but the Order has neither approved nor licensed it, and nothing on this site should be read as though it had.
- How long does it take to get a site?
- The site exists as soon as the payment clears — normally a few seconds after you leave the Stripe page. You are the first admin. Filling it with your council’s own content, importing the roster and setting up the office slate is an evening’s work for one officer.
- What if something goes wrong with the payment?
- If the card is charged and the site is not created, the failure is recorded with its reason and we finish it by hand — you are not left with a charge and nothing to show. If the card is declined, nothing is reserved and you can try again.
